Important Notice Regarding Fraudulent Emails / Invoices Isle of Wight County has been made aware of spam emails and fraudulent invoices that may use Isle of Wight County and/or OpenGov logos. Please be advised: Application, permit, and review fees are requested only through the official OpenGov portal. Legitimate payments are made securely within your OpenGov account. Our department does not request payment through emailed invoices or outside payment links. If you receive a suspicious email or invoice, please contact our office before submitting payment. Our office uses OpenGov , an online permitting and application system that allows customers to conveniently submit requests electronically. Through the portal, users can: Submit applications online Upload plans and supporting documents Schedule inspections Check plan review status Receive real-time updates Respond to staff comments Pay fees securely by credit card or e-check We continue to accept paper plans, and a public computer is available in our lobby for customers who need assistance applying online. Review times may be shorter or longer depending on the current work volume of the department. Review times may be longer if all required materials are not submitted at the time of application. Attention ALL applicants: All development application submittals, larger than 11” x 17”, must be FOLDED at the time of submittal.
