A strong thunderstorm with hail and strong winds is forecast to arrive in Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland from the evening of the 27th, so residents are required to be cautious.
Meteorological authorities said, "Due to the heat and moisture accumulated during the day on Thursday, a surprise medium to large thunderstorm may occur in the evening," and "Major risk factors can cause damage." He warned of strong winds and large hail.
Localized heavy rain is expected to be concentrated in central and northeastern Maryland in particular. The weather official recalled that a tornado occurred in Queens County a week ago and added, "The possibility of local tornadoes due to high pressure spin-up centered on the further north and northeast areas cannot be ruled out." The Korea Meteorological Administration's advisory will remain in effect until 10 p.m. on the 28th.
