A 19-year-old man has been arrested by police on charges of murdering a woman in her 40s in a park parking lot in the Great Falls area of McLean.
The Fairfax County Police Department announced on Wednesday, the 19th, that they arrested Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, 19, for the murder of Carmen Lizeth Pucci, 42, of Reston, who was found dead in the parking lot of the Difficult Run Trail near Great Falls on Monday, the 17th.
According to police, a jogger discovered an unconscious woman lying on the ground in a parking lot in the 8800 block of Georgetown Pike around 7:00 a.m. on the 17th and called 911.
Responding officers found Pucci lying next to her 2011 Honda Civic with multiple upper-body injuries, but she was already deceased.
Fairfax County Police Captain Jason Chandler stated, "This does not appear to be a random act," indicating that the investigation has focused on the likelihood that the victim and the suspect knew each other.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death. Police are scheduled to release additional details regarding the incident on the afternoon of the 19th.
