A tragic traffic accident occurred on the 17th in Rockville, Maryland, leaving a mother dead and her young son severely injured.
According to the Montgomery County Police Department, the collision happened around 8:30 p.m. on the 17th near the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Twinbrook Parkway. Arriving officers found the woman and her young son struck by a vehicle and immediately transported them to a hospital, where the mother was pronounced dead. Her son is currently receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation. Police plan to release the victim's identity once family notification is complete and are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the crash.
