Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station Effective Wednesday, July 1, 2026, the Montgomery County Transfer Station will begin restrictions on the acceptance of commercial mattresses and box springs. Mattresses arriving in commercial loads (Stake Bodies, Open Tops, etc.) will not be accepted unless they are accompanied by a residential manifest verifying same-day collection within Montgomery County, and loads without a manifest will be rejected. Additionally, all other Commercial mattresses will be turned away and not permitted for disposal on the tipping floor at any time. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required on the main tipping floor. You will not be permitted to access the tipping floor and dump without this required PPE:

  • HIGH VISIBILITY VEST
  • HARD HAT
