School Psychologists Supporting the Whole Child: The Role of ACPS School Psychologists School psychologists in Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) are integral members of our educational community, dedicated to supporting the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of every student. Drawing on their expertise in learning, behavior, and mental health, ACPS school psychologists help create environments where all students feel safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. Working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners, school psychologists contribute to a culture of care and inclusion that reflects our commitment to equity and student success. The work of ACPS school psychologists is grounded in the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) Practice Model, which defines the comprehensive range of services school psychologists provide to support students, families, and schools.
