Bodycam Footage Released in Investigation of Lost Knife Road Officer-Involved Shooting August 7, 2026 Gaithersburg, MD - The Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division (IID) is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred in Montgomery County on Sunday, July 12, 2026. On Friday, August 7, 2026, the IID released body-worn camera footage that includes the decedent’s interactions with Montgomery County and Gaithersburg Police Officers. The Montgomery County Department of Police has released body-worn camera video from the shooting which also includes footage from multiple responding officers and shows the events leading up to the shooting, as well as the officers’ actions afterwards. Consistent with past IID cases involving MCPD officers and the department’s commitment to transparency, the following MCPD video provides additional context and should be viewed alongside the IID release.
