Pay Taxes

Need to make a payment? There are many ways to pay Northampton County taxes and water bills:

  1. Mail the payment along with bottom portion of the tax bill to:

2)Use online payment system at Official Payments. Please be aware the taxpayer will be charged a 3% convenience fee for credit card payments.

3)You may also call in the payment to the Northampton County Treasurer's office with your credit card information at 757-678-0450.

The 3% convenience fee for credit card payments will still apply.

Northampton County accepts checks, cash, money orders and all major credit cards.

***In an effort to help taxpayers to pay for their taxes before the December 5th deadline and not accrue penalty and interest after the due date, we would like to make sure you are aware of the PREPAID option.

You can begin paying Real Estate taxes starting January of the current year. You can pay any amount you wish at any time that is convenient for you.

In October you will receive an updated amount due or paid receipts showing a zero balance. You will need to have the following information included with your check and you will receive a receipt with every transaction.

RPC# (Parcel Code) or Physical Address and note PREPAID RE in memo line of check

If you have a DMV Stop due to delinquent taxes please contact the Treasurer's office.

In office payment is preferred. If you pay online, allow up to 3 business days for payment to be processed.
