타겟·크로거 등서 판매 바나나&딸기 퓨레

포장재 비닐 박리 가능성…FDA, 즉시 폐기 당부

 

미국 내 주요 대형마트에서 대량 판매된 유명 영유아용 과일 퓨레 파우치 제품에 대해 자발적 리콜이 전격 실시됐다. 포장재 결함으로 인해 내용물에 얇은 플라스틱 이물질이 섞여 들어갈 위험이 확인됐기 때문이다.

식품의약국(FDA)에 따르면 이번 리콜 대상은 'PT 오가닉스(PT Organics Limited)'사가 제조한 '펌킨트리 피터래빗 오가닉스 바나나 & 딸기(Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry)' 4온스(113그램) 파우치 제품이다. 이 제품은 타겟(Target), 크로거(Kroger), 마이어(Meijer) 등 전국 대형 유통 매장을 통해 판매됐다.

이번 조치는 제조사가 용기 포장재 공급업체로부터 결함을 통보받은 후 이루어졌다. 포장재 안쪽 비닐 재질에 결함이 있어, 소비자가 포장을 깔 때 얇고 부드러운 실 모양의 플라스틱 조각이 분리되어 내용물과 함께 나올 수 있다는 지적이다. 이 같은 이물질은 특히 어린아이들에게 질식 위험을 유발하거나 체내에 들어갈 경우 건강상 위해를 가할 수 있다. 다행히 현재까지 해당 제품으로 인한 부상이나 피해 사례는 접수되지 않았다.

리콜 대상은 올해 3월 6일부터 7월 13일 사이 판매된 물량이다. 해당 제품의 바코드는 '8 15367 01078 0'이며, 제품 뒷면 우측 봉합선 부분에 숫자 '4'가 인쇄되어 있는 것이 특징이다. 또한, 유통기한이 2027년 1월 19일과 20일, 3월 17일과 18일, 5월 14일과 15일로 표시된 제품들이 리콜 대상에 포함된다.

FDA와 제조사 측은 소비자가 해당 제품을 가지고 있을 경우 즉시 아이에게 먹이지 말고 폐기하거나 구매처를 방문해 환불받을 것을 권고했다. 리콜 관련 세부 사항이나 확인 문의는 PT 오가닉스 고객지원 센터(888-566-2363)를 통해 안내받을 수 있다.

A voluntary recall has been launched for popular baby food pouches sold at major U.S. retailers due to defective packaging that poses a plastic contamination hazard.

PT Organics Limited has issued a voluntary recall for its "Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry" 4 oz. (113g) pouches after discovering a defect in the packaging material supplied by its vendor.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the inner lining of the pouch can peel off, leaving thin, thread-like soft plastic pieces inside the puree. These plastic fragments pose potential choking hazards or digestive risks, particularly for infants and young children.

To date, no injuries or adverse health events have been reported in connection with the affected products.

The affected pouches were distributed nationwide at major retailers, including Target, Kroger, and Meijer, between March 6, 2026, and July 13, 2026.
